If the robots represented global technology, another attraction represented the ingenuity of Telangana’s own young minds.
A modest stall belonging to the Telangana Gurukul Institutions was suddenly the center of attention — thanks to a 3-in-1 Hybrid Bicycle designed by Master G. Gagan Chandra, a Class 10 student from Government SC Boys Hostel, Balmoor in Nagarkurnool district.
Gagan’s creation is anything but ordinary. A regular bicycle retro-fitted with solar panels, a rechargeable battery pack, Smartphone connectivity, Self-start capability, a range of up to 30 km on a single daytime solar charge, battery backup to keep the bicycle running even at night
The transformation cost him just ₹25,000 — and a head full of ideas. Mentored by teacher N. Seetharam, Gagan has already showcased his innovation in national-level fairs across multiple states, winning accolades and admiration.
Visitors were astonished to see a high-utility, eco-friendly mobility solution coming from a government hostel student. Many hailed him as an example of the grassroots talent Telangana is nurturing under its renewed education thrust. All stalls — representing government departments, corporates, startups and educational institutions — will remain operational during the two summit days and for three additional days, when the expo will be thrown open to the general public. From world-class robots to grassroots student innovation, the Telangana Rising Global Summit’s expo showcased a powerful blend of futuristic technology and homegrown brilliance. While X-Man and Jeevan dazzled with mechanical perfection, it was young Gagan’s hybrid bicycle that reminded visitors that innovation doesn’t wait for age, background or resources — it thrives where curiosity meets opportunity.
