Marking one year of the alliance government in Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has given the green signal for the rollout of the much-anticipated ‘Talliki Vandanam’ scheme—one of the six key promises made under the Super Six manifesto. As a tribute to mothers and their role in children's education, the government has decided to deposit Rs.8,745 crore directly into the bank accounts of beneficiaries on June 12.
The scheme, which was promised during the 2024 election campaign, aims to support the mothers of school-going children financially. As per official estimates, 67,27,164 students are covered under the first phase, making their mothers eligible for the benefit. The funds are being transferred in adherence to the promise that for every child pursuing education, the mother will receive financial assistance.
The state government has also clarified that the scheme will extend to students newly admitted into Class 1 and those enrolling in Intermediate First Year, ensuring inclusivity across educational milestones. Funds for these groups will be transferred once admission data becomes available and verified.
