The Telangana State Cabinet portfolios were formally allocated on Wednesday evening to the three newly inducted ministers, marking a significant reshuffle in the administrative responsibilities of the government. As indicated by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy during his visit to New Delhi, the additional portfolios he had been holding until now have been assigned to the new Cabinet members.
Vivek Venkatswamy has been entrusted with the Labour, Employment, Training and Factories Department, along with the Mines and Geology portfolio. Adluri Laxman Kumar will oversee four key departments: Scheduled Castes Development, Tribal Welfare, Minorities Welfare, and the Department for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Senior Citizens, and Transgender Persons. Meanwhile, Vakiti Srihari has been given charge of Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries, in addition to Sports and Youth Services.
The Chief Minister said that he would prevent KCR family members from joining the Congress party for as long as he was in power. In a chit chat with media persons in New Delhi on Wednesday, the Chief Minister stated that BRS MLC Kavitha would not be permitted to join the Congress party while he was in the party. He accused her of conducting politics in a manner reminiscent of a dramatic film, akin to "Assembly Rowdy."
Revanth Reddy clarified that only the portfolios he currently oversees would be allocated to new Ministers, indicating that there would be alterations in the portfolios assigned to the existing Ministers. Especially, there is growing curiosity regarding which departments Revanth Reddy will relinquish. It remains uncertain whether the Home Ministry will be assigned. The Chief Minister's announcement suggests that there will be no changes to the departments managed by the current Ministers.
Revanth Reddy stated, "I came to Delhi solely to provide information about the successful caste census conducted in Telangana and Karnataka. I will assign portfolios to the new Ministers once I return to Hyderabad, and I will only allocate those that I currently oversee."
The Chief Minister mentioned that the principles of social justice have been upheld in the expansion of the Telangana cabinet, with 55 percent of the positions already filled according to the population distribution.
