CM Naidu lauds TTD’s conservation efforts in Seshachalam Hills

Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday congratulated the TTD for achieving 89.4 per cent forest cover in Tirumala through sustained conservation efforts in the Seshachalam Hills.

According to TTD, nearly 2,431 hectares of the total 2,719 hectares under its jurisdiction are covered with forest vegetation, resulting in 89.4 per cent green cover in Tirumala, according to the latest India State of Forest Report (ISFR).

The chief minister appreciated the temple body’s efforts to protect forest wealth, restore native species, and preserve the ecological balance in the sacred hill ranges.

“Our traditions regard nature as sacred, and protecting forests and wildlife is a service to the divine. I appreciate these efforts, which will help preserve a greener and healthier Tirumala for future generations,” Naidu said in a post on X.

According to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, the temple body has undertaken initiatives such as native plantation drives, wildlife protection measures, and medicinal plant conservation programmes across the hill region.

Tirumala, located atop the Seshachalam Hills, is the abode of Lord Sri Venkateswara. TTD is the official custodian of the Sri Venkateswara Temple in Tirupati, regarded as the world’s richest Hindu shrine.
