CM Revanth unveils poster for Medaram Maha Jatara-2026

Revanth Reddy unveiled the Medaram Maha Jatara-2026 poster at his residence in Jubilee Hills on Sunday. Ministers Konda Surekha, Seethakka, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, and Adluri Laxman Kumar were present. The Medaram Maha Jatara 2026, also known as the Sammakka-Saralamma Jatara, is scheduled to take place from January 28 to January 31, 2026, in the Mulugu district of Telangana. Known as the "Kumbh Mela of the South," this biennial tribal festival is one of the largest human gatherings in the world.

The Telangana government has sanctioned ₹150 crore for the event, focusing on both temporary arrangements and permanent infrastructure.

The capacity of the Sammakka-Saralamma Gadde is being expanded from 3,000 to 10,000 devotees at a time. The temple is being reconstructed in stone to withstand natural disasters while respecting Adivasi traditions. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy already has set a 100-day deadline for major reconstruction works to ensure everything is ready well before January.

President Droupadi Murmu invited for Sammakka-Saralamma Maha Jatara

The Telangana government has invited President Droupadi Murmu to the Medaram Maha Jatara-2026, which will be held from January 28 to 31, 2026, in Mulugu district.

Ministers Seethakka, Konda Surekha, and Adluri Lakshman Kumar called on President Droupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Nilayam in Bollaram on Sunday and handed over the invitation letter to the President.

In accordance with the traditions of the Medaram Maha Jatara, the saree, bracelet, and shawl of Goddess Sammakka were presented to the President.  Subsequently, Minister Seethakka explained to the President the significance of the Medaram Jatara, its unique place in tribal culture, the history of the struggle and sacrifice of Goddesses Sammakka and Saralamma, the faith and devotion of the people, the development works in Medaram, and the arrangements for the festival.

During the interaction, Droupadi Murmu listened with great interest to the details of the Medaram Jatara and said that she would definitely try to attend this grand festival. She thanked the State government and the Ministers for extending the invitation to the Medaram Maha Jatara.  The President affectionately presented new clothes to the Ministers and appreciated the state government's efforts in preserving the tribal culture and traditions.
