Clad in a beige coloured kurta, the Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy made a surprise visit to Tank Bund on Saturday afternoon catching one and all by surprise as he personally inspected the Ganesh Nimmajanam (idol immersion) arrangements.

Bereft of convoy and the usual security fuss, the Chief Minister mingled with the crowd and made his way on foot to Crane No 4 where the immersion process was in full swing. As he was inquiring about the arrangements with the GHMC officials, many rushed forward to shake hands and take selfies with him.

The Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi (BGUS) visibly moved by the gesture, called it ‘historic’ and ‘deeply respectful’ of the city’s cultural and spiritual sentiments. The CM’s unannounced visit, devoid of pomp but full of purpose, sent a strong message of direct governance and people-first leadership, while also reflecting his deep connection with Hyderabad’s traditions.

After inspecting the arrangements, the Chief Minister proceeded along the Secretariat route, standing in his vehicle and waving to the enthusiastic public, evoking scenes more akin to a political rally than an administrative visit His sudden appearance at NTR Marg, accompanied by minimal vehicles and no traffic clearance, caught officials and the public off guard.

Dressed in a traditional Kurta pyjama attire, the CM walked up to Crane No. 4, where immersions were actively taking place, and interacted directly with GHMC officials to inquire about the status of idol immersions and security arrangements. His presence drew a large crowd, with many citizens rushing to greet and shake hands with him, creating a buzz across the area.

He later proceeded in the Secretariat route standing from his vehicle and waving to the cheering audience. Further, he went inside the stage erected by Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi (BGUS), catching the organisers off-guard. The organisers were appreciative of the gesture and said that it was indeed for the first time that CM of the State had visited Tank Bund and BGUS stage to monitor the nimajjanam.
