CMC chief reviews town planning works

Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) Commissioner G. Srijana held a comprehensive review of town planning initiatives at the Commissioner's Office on Friday. The focus was on enhancing timelines, ensuring transparency, and improving execution at the field level across all zones.

Present at the meeting were the Chief City Planner (CCP), City Planners (CPs) from all three zones, and other relevant officials. They discussed the status of applications, enforcement activities, and unresolved issues in detail.

The Commissioner instructed that applications be promptly processed, which includes building permissions, occupancy certificates, Transferable Development Rights (TDR), and Layout Regularization Scheme (LRS) cases.

She emphasised the need to address pending court cases, such as Writ Petitions (WPs) and Contempt Cases (CCs), ensuring timely submission of counters and proactive measures for removing encroachments, especially from road margins and public lands. Additionally, the Commissioner urged progress on grievance resolution, land acquisition, and road widening efforts, highlighting the importance of addressing bottlenecks and advancing priority projects.

Furthermore, she directed officials to closely monitor dilapidated and unsafe buildings, ensuring that appropriate actions are taken based on field inspections and enforcement actions.

Officials were also directed to expedite disposal of all pending applications and cases, ensuring adherence to prescribed timelines and service standards. She directed officials to strengthen coordination between town planning, engineering, and legal wings for faster decision-making and  ensure timely handling of court cases. The Commissioner emphasised that timely approvals, effective enforcement, and proactive monitoring are essential for improving urban infrastructure and service delivery, and instructed officials to ensure measurable outcomes on ground.
