The District Collector Rahul Sharma visited Mahadevpur and Suraram villages in Mahadevpur Mandal on Wednesday and inspected the paddy procurement centers. During the visit, the Collector personally examined the condition of paddy that had become wet due to untimely rains and held direct discussions with affected farmers. Speaking on the occasion, the Collector directed officials to transport the wet paddy to the Annapurna Paraboil Rice Mill in Kataram.
He instructed Civil Supplies Department officials to appoint special staff at the rice mills to closely monitor the procurement, transportation and milling processes, ensuring there are no delays at any stage. He also directed the Civil Supplies District Manager to ensure that procured paddy is not stored at the procurement centers but is transported immediately to the designated rice mills. The Collector further ordered the transport contractor to keep sufficient lorries available for the movement of paddy from procurement centers and to ensure the process is carried out without any hurdles.
