District Collector Sneha Shabarish has directed doctors to remain available round-the-clock to provide medical services to the public and instructed officials to accelerate paddy procurement to ensure farmers face no difficulties. On Wednesday, the Collector made a surprise inspection of the Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Gangaram Mandal headquarters. During the visit, she checked inpatient and outpatient facilities, medicine stocks, staff attendance registers, and the hospital premises. She also personally interacted with patients undergoing treatment and enquired about the medical services being provided.
Speaking on the occasion, Collector Sneha Shabarish emphasized that in view of the current summer season, doctors at all Community Health Centres (CHCs), Primary Health Centres (PHCs), and Sub-Centres across the district should remain available daily to serve the public. She also directed strict vigilance against illegal sex determination tests. The Collector further instructed officials to create full awareness about heatwave precautions and ensure people avoid stepping out unless absolutely necessary.
Later, the Collector visited the ongoing paddy procurement centers at Amanagal and Parvatagiri villages in Mahabubabad Mandal. She directed officials to procure paddy strictly as per government norms without causing any inconvenience to farmers and to transport it to mills immediately. Given the forecast of possible unseasonal rains, she asked Agriculture Department officials to alert farmers in advance. She instructed procurement centers to keep adequate stocks of gunny bags, tarpaulins, and paddy cleaners ready.
The Collector stated that a total of 213 procurement centers are being operated in the district and warned that strict action would be taken against anyone found harassing farmers or causing delays at the procurement centers. The Collector requested farmers and others to contact the helpline number 7995050789 immediately in case of any emergencies or issues related to paddy procurement and transportation.
