A complaint was submitted by the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) here on Tuesday against the unauthorized and politically motivated misuse of HYDRAA’s name and the government emblem on various social media platforms.
Ashish Kumar Yadav, Abhilash Rangineni and Goverdhan Reddy have said unverified accounts falsely posing as official HYDRAA handles, have been disseminating politically charged content, violating the neutrality expected from a law enforcement agency. These actions not only breach public trust but also appear to contravene Rule 5 of the AIS (Conduct) Rules, which prohibits civil servants from engaging in political activity.
“We request immediate and strict action, including filing criminal cases against individuals operating these unauthorized accounts; initiating a cyber crime investigation to expose those behind these operations; publicly disassociating HYDRAA from such unlawful and biased conduct. The integrity of enforcement agencies must remain above politics. Any attempt to weaponize their image for political gain is dangerous and unacceptable. We urge the Commissioner to uphold the dignity of the service and restore public confidence through urgent corrective measures,” urged the complainant.
