Bharata Rashtra Samithi(BRS) Working President KT Rama Rao(KTR) on Friday said that the Congress government which was hoodwinking people with false promises needs to be taught a lesson in the upcoming by-polls of Jubilee Hills Assembly Segment. Terming the by-elections as a “decider for Telangana’s future”, he said that Congress leaders would be under an impression that they need not implement welfare schemes in case the party won the by-elections.
KTR participated in the booth level meeting of Erragadda Division and alleged that Congress and BJP were conspiring to silence KCR who stood as the “voice and protector of Telangana”. Terming CM Revanth Reddy as a “joint venture of Congress and BJP”, he described how Revanth Reddy was supporting Gautam Adani whom Rahul Gandhi described as a cheat and Narendra Modi whom Rahul Gandhi termed as a “vote stealer”. He also lamented that no woman was happy in Telangana.
He recalled that BRS MPs voted against the Waqf Bill in Rajya Sabha which was against the interests of the Muslim community and lamented that this was the first time that a state government was formed without a single Muslim in the cabinet. Recollecting that KCR’s government never touched poor people’s houses, he described how the present Congress government was on a “demolition spree” while at the same time was sparing the Ministers and influential, including the Chief Minister’s brother, who constructed houses by encroaching lakes.
Assuring that the services of Maganti Gopinath who served as an MLA for three consecutive terms would be continued, he appealed the people to “bless” Gopinath’s wife Maganti Sunitha in the by-polls. “If you vote for Congress even by mistake, it is like poking your eye with your own finger” KTR cautioned and appealed to the people to question the Congress leaders about the unimplemented promises.
