The chairman of AP FiberNet Limited, G.V. Reddy, has accused the previous government of making a large number of irregular appointments to the organization, leading to a bloated workforce and financial strain. In a press conference held on Tuesday, Reddy announced that 410 employees who were appointed without following proper procedures would be terminated.

Reddy alleged that the previous government, over a period of five years, had made appointments based solely on recommendations from political leaders, without conducting any proper recruitment processes. He stated, “They simply sent WhatsApp messages, and people were given jobs. These individuals were not even qualified for the positions they held. Some were even working as cooks or drivers for MLAs and MPs while drawing salaries from FiberNet.”

The chairman further revealed that these employees did not even have proper appointment letters and were directly added to the payroll. He emphasized that the company was incurring a monthly expenditure of Rs. 4 crores due to these irregular appointments, pushing the organization to the brink of bankruptcy.

Reddy also highlighted the financial mismanagement of the previous government, stating that AP FiberNet had accumulated debts of Rs. 1200 crores. He said that the company had been forced to take drastic measures, such as terminating these irregularly appointed employees, to prevent its collapse.

The chairman assured that the current government would take strict action against those responsible for these irregularities and would recover any losses incurred by the company. He added that legal notices would be issued to individuals who had authorized these appointments.
