Congress protests in Wanaparthy against Rahul Gandhi's arrest

Following the call given by the All India Congress Committee (AICC) and the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), the District Congress Committee organized a massive protest at Gandhi Chowk in Wanaparthy district headquarters today against the Union Government's alleged actions towards Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi.

On the occasion, Congress leaders, public representatives and party workers participated in large numbers and raised slogans against the BJP-led Central Government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.  They stated that Rahul Gandhi has been consistently fighting for the people by raising issues of national importance and accused the Centre of conspiring to intimidate him through such actions.  The leaders further said that suppressing dissenting voices and silencing the opposition is against the spirit of the Constitution and democratic values.
