CWC team inspects progress of Polavaram Project

A delegation from the Central Water Commission (CWC) conducted a detailed inspection of the Polavaram Project construction site on Saturday. The team included senior CWC members Yogesh Pythankar and H.S. Senegar, along with Polavaram Project Authority Chief Engineer Ramesh Kumar.

During their visit, the officials reviewed ongoing works at key locations including the diaphragm wall, Batrus dam, Gap-1 section, upper and lower cofferdams, and the spillway. Water Resources Department officials provided technical briefings on the status of the diaphragm wall and Batrus dam construction.

The CWC members emphasized the need for timely completion of the project in line with established targets and urged the state authorities to expedite works without compromising quality.

Project officials highlighted that both the central and state governments are working in close coordination to ensure steady progress.

The visiting team was accompanied by Engineer-in-Chief K. Narasimha Murthy, Executive Engineers D. Srinivas and K. Balakrishna, Deputy Engineers Anil Kumar, Sriram Patel, and Mallikarjun, as well as Assistant Executive Engineers Anil Kumar, Padma Kumar, Suresh, Arun, Kumaraswamy, and other key officials.
