Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee ( TPCC) President and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud  emphasised the importance of uniting all Other Backward Classes (OBC) communities to advocate for the legal recognition of the BC Bill and its inclusion in the Ninth Schedule of the Constitution.

He made these remarks during the launch of the book ‘OBC Porubata’ on Saturday. He highlighted that the moment has come for OBCs to band together and leverage their collective influence.

Mahesh Kumar Goud noted the existing lack of cohesion among OBC communities, stressing that their unity should transcend political affiliations and party lines. He also pointed out that the Central government's move to carry out a caste census is a significant victory for the Congress party, with Telangana setting a precedent for the nation through its execution of the caste-based survey.

Mahesh Kumar Goud said the Congress government in Telangana, under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, conducted the caste survey transparently, adhering to the principle that every community deserves its due. Even the BJP-led Central Government, which once opposed the caste survey, has now announced its intention to conduct a caste census alongside the general census, he reminded.

The TPCC chief stated that the movement for the BC Bill must be driven beyond caste divisions, as a united and inclusive effort for equity and justice.

BJP MP Eatala Rajender, BRS MLC Dasoju Shravan and other BC community leaders were also present.
