Cyberabad Commissionerate police have intensified their crackdown on drug trafficking and sales. Special Operations Teams (SOT) enforcement units, working with law and order police, carried out a special drive between April 1 and May 22. During this 50‑day operation, officers registered 61 cases under the NDPS Act and arrested 154 accused. Drugs worth Rs 3,69,21,200 were seized, according to SOT DCP Shoban Kumar.

He stated that raids were conducted based on intelligence inputs, leading to the busting of several drug networks. Along with traditional ganja and hash oil, police also targeted the growing threat of synthetic drugs. Kumar emphasized that strict action is being taken against those pushing youth into addiction.

Police appealed to citizens to cooperate in building a drug‑free society by sharing credible information on drug sales and transport. Authorities assured that the identities of informants will be kept confidential, reinforcing their commitment to community support in tackling the menace.
