Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, addressing leaders of the film industry, emphasized the need for collaborative efforts to advance Telangana’s progress. Speaking at the key meeting held between government and Telugu film industry representatives on Thursday, he urged the industry to contribute to social and developmental programs under the banner of “Rising Telangana.”

Highlighting the state government’s initiative to establish Young India Integrated Residential Schools, he stated, “To provide world-class education to the underprivileged, the government is constructing 119 integrated residential schools across the state, with an investment of Rs. 200 crore. We request the film industry to support this noble cause by contributing financial resources through a cess.”

The Deputy CM pointed out the strong fan base of the SC, ST, and BC communities in the film industry, stressing their pivotal role in shaping Telangana’s future. He appealed to film stars to actively participate in the government’s anti-drug campaign, leveraging their influence to combat the growing menace.

Discussing the comprehensive family survey, he said, that the survey will determine how the state’s wealth is distributed across communities. Film personalities should use their platforms to encourage public participation.

Acknowledging Congress’ historical support for the film industry, he said, “It was during the Congress rule that the film industry flourished, with land allocated for studios and workers. We will continue to support the industry to compete globally.”
