Director-General of Police B Shivadhar Reddy has directed personnel from Home Guards to IPS officers to uphold integrity, compassion and accountability, cautioning that recent Anti-Corruption Bureau actions highlight consequences of misconduct. In a post on X, he reiterated that policing should be fair, firm, friendly, and professional, urging the public to report corruption via 1064.
His remarks come after ACB arrests of police staff in bribery cases. Recently, Sub-Inspector U.K. Siddeshwar and Inspector Sampathi Kanakaiah of RGIA Police Outpost were caught seeking Rs.5 lakh and accepting Rs.2 lakh to file a charge sheet and avoid implicating the complainant’s family in a Shamshabad case. Officials termed their conduct dishonestly.
