Metro India News | Hyderabad : A 50-year-old doctor was burnt alive after the car he was driving caught fire after hitting a road divider in Suryapet district of Telangana on Sunday, police said. The accident occurred near Pillalamarri flyover on the Hyderabad-Khammam highway at around 7.15 am, a police official said.
The car was engulfed in flames after hitting the road divider. On receiving information, a police team and fire personnel reached the spot and extinguished the flames, but the vehicle was completely gutted.
"Later, a charred body was found on the driver’s seat. Based on information from a nearby toll gate and the vehicle’s temporary registration number, the deceased was identified as K Jagadish, a neurosurgeon working at a hospital in Khammam district," the official said.
The doctor was driving to Hyderabad from Khammam to meet his family, police said. A case was registered.
