Kanchanbagh police have arrested six persons in connection with the murder of Mashallah Omer and an attempt to murder Syed Bin Mehfooz at Hafeez Baba Nagar on November 3.

According to police, the incident occurred around 3.40 am near SA Hair Cutting Saloon in B-Block. The accused allegedly surrounded Omer and attacked him with a knife when he attempted to escape. He sustained multiple injuries to his neck and was declared dead. Syed Bin Mehfooz, who intervened to rescue him, was also injured.

Police suspect the murder was linked to a rental dispute involving Omer's maternal uncle and a house owner, who had allegedly threatened him. Six accused have been apprehended, while two others, including the alleged main conspirator Abdul Khader Amodhi, remain absconding.
