The Andhra Pradesh government has relaunched its public participation initiative to support the development of Amaravati as the state's world-class capital. Reviving the spirit of the 2015 campaign, citizens are now once again invited to contribute financially through a newly introduced digital donation platform.
The Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) has activated a donation feature on its official website crda.ap.gov.in, with a dedicated section titled “Donate for Amaravati.” Citizens can use this portal to make voluntary contributions via UPI by scanning a generated QR code. All donations will be directly credited to the CRDA’s official account and utilized exclusively for capital development.
The move echoes the earlier “My Brick, My Amaravati” campaign launched in 2015 under then Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, during his previous tenure. That initiative encouraged citizens to symbolically “buy” a brick for Rs.10, creating a personal and emotional link to the capital’s construction. It saw massive support from both domestic donors and the global Telugu diaspora, with Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) contributing in large numbers—some offering the equivalent of thousands of bricks. At that time, donors received digital certificates acknowledging their support, signed personally by the Chief Minister. “Amaravati is not just a capital, it is the dream of five crore people of Andhra Pradesh. Every donation, no matter how small, brings us a step closer to building a capital that reflects our aspirations,” Naidu had said in 2015.
Now, a decade later, with the TDP-led government back in power since 2024, CM Naidu has once again placed Amaravati at the heart of his development agenda. The donation drive is seen as both a symbolic and practical step toward reviving the long-delayed capital project after years of political impasse and administrative setbacks.
Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, P. Narayana, emphasized the transparency and technological advancement of the system. “Every citizen now has a chance to take pride in building their capital. The QR-code based donation process is secure, transparent, and inclusive. Each rupee is traceable and will be publicly accounted for,” he said. By merging the emotional legacy of the past with digital tools of today, the state is once again empowering its people to shape the future of Amaravati.
