Hyderabad police have issued a stern warning to motorists against mixing alcohol consumption with fake claims of legal knowledge while driving. V.C. Sajjanar, IPS, highlighted the dangers of attempting to argue with law enforcement officers using fictitious legal provisions, noting that sections such as “123” and “567” do not exist under Indian law.

According to Sajjanar, motorists who try to challenge police officers with imaginary laws while under the influence of alcohol risk immediate consequences. Such behavior not only endangers the driver and others on the road but also often results in public embarrassment. Videos or messages of these incidents can quickly spread on social media and messaging platforms, creating viral moments of humiliation for the offender.

In addition to reputational damage, vehicles of such offenders are subject to impoundment, effectively enforcing discipline and adherence to traffic laws. Sajjanar emphasized that even lawyers cannot defend claims based on nonexistent laws, and attempts to do so collapse quickly when real legal provisions are cited.

The officer concluded with a cautionary note: while enjoying alcohol responsibly or reading legal fiction can be harmless, driving under the influence and pretending to be a legal expert is dangerous and strictly punishable. Authorities continue to urge citizens to prioritize road safety, avoid alcohol while driving, and respect actual legal procedures. Hyderabad police reiterated that such incidents will be dealt with firmly, underlining the city’s commitment to safe and responsible driving.
