Fake SKF Bearings seized in Hyderabad

In a major crackdown on counterfeit industrial products, Hyderabad Police seized a large consignment of fake SKF bearings during coordinated raids in Raniganj and Secunderabad. Acting on complaints filed by representatives of SKF, police conducted searches at three establishments — S V Tool & Bearing in Raniganj, Bearing International in Ganji Complex, and A 2 Z Machinery Store in Secunderabad. The operation was carried out with the assistance of officials from Mahankali Police Station.

During the raids, authorities confiscated around 1,987 counterfeit bearings along with approximately 2,780 outer box sheets suspected to be used for packaging the fake products. Company representatives were present during the inspection and helped officials identify the counterfeit items.

According to police, the fake bearings were being sold in the market as genuine SKF products, misleading customers and potentially causing financial and mechanical losses due to substandard quality. Several consumers had reportedly raised complaints about poor performance, prompting the company to alert law enforcement agencies.

Following the seizures, FIRs have been registered against those involved in the illegal trade. Further investigation is underway to trace the source of the counterfeit supply chain.
