A total of 151 officer trainees, including 135 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers and 16 foreign officers from Nepal, Bhutan and the Maldives, will participate in the Dikshant Parade at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) on October 17. The batch includes 37 women officers.
The trainees of the 78th Regular Recruit (RR) batch have undergone Phase-I training at the academy following their Foundation Course at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie.
Their training includes attachments with central police organisations, Central Armed Police Forces, the Indian Army and other institutions, along with visits to key constitutional and government functionaries in New Delhi.
After completing the 49-week Phase-I programme, the officers will undergo 29 weeks of district practical training in their respective cadres and states. They will return to SVPNPA for the nine-week Phase-II course, scheduled to begin on June 21, 2027. The academy provides basic training and professional development to IPS officers, preparing them for leadership and policing responsibilities across the country.
