Anshuman Jha’s First Ray Films announced six upcoming projects to be showcased at Cannes Film Festival 2026
Actor-filmmaker Anshuman Jha’s production banner, First Ray Films, has announced an ambitious slate of six original films spanning 2026 to 2028. The announcement marks a major step as the company enters its second decade with a stronger global vision and focus on director-led storytelling.
The six-film slate will be showcased at the Marché Du Film during the Cannes Film Festival in May 2026. The banner plans to expand through international co-productions, cross-border theatrical releases, and original content across genres.
Founded in 2016 with Shashi Sudigala’s Mona Darling, First Ray Films built a reputation for backing bold and unique stories that stood apart from mainstream cinema. Over the last ten years, the company has steadily developed projects for both theatrical and digital platforms.
Its upcoming slate includes films ranging from intimate human dramas to high-concept action stories, while maintaining a strong creative identity. The banner’s latest release, Lord Curzon Ki Haveli, was presented by MAX and is set to premiere on JioHotstar next month.
