Foundation laid for Hero MotoCorp plant in Tirupati

Hero MotoCorp on Wednesday laid the foundation stone for its second Global Parts Centre (GPC) in Tirupati marking a milestone in its long-term expansion strategy. The facility, backed by an investment of over Rs 750 crore, forms part of the company’s broader investment roadmap exceeding Rs 3,200 crore aimed at strengthening manufacturing, logistics and electric mobility in the region. The company also plans to significantly increase annual production capacity at its Tirupati plant to between 1.2 million and 1.5 million units.

Speaking at the ceremony, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said the investment reflects confidence in the state’s investor-friendly policies and infrastructure. He added that the project would position Tirupati as a leading manufacturing, mobility and logistics hub. Hero MotoCorp Executive Chairman Pawan Munjal said the investment underscores the company’s commitment to "Made in India, for India and the World." He dedicated the milestone to the legacy of founder Dr. Brijmohan Lall Munjal on his 103rd birth anniversary.
