Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced that women across the state will be able to travel for free in RTC buses starting August 15, Independence Day. The move is part of the state government’s broader welfare and development agenda.

“Whatever hardships may come, I will endure them. But I will not allow my people to suffer,” Chandrababu declared in Kurnool on Saturday during a series of development programs under the "Swarna Andhra – Swachh Andhra" initiative.

“We are implementing every promise made to the people during the elections. The free bus travel for women is a step toward empowering them, and it will be launched with pride on Independence Day,” he added.

Speaking to farmers and sanitation workers at the C-Camp Rythu Bazaar in Kurnool, the Chief Minister announced plans to transform Rayalaseema into a horticulture hub. Chandrababu took part in the ground-breaking ceremony for a new urban park in Dhanalakshmi Nagar and participated in a tree-planting program along with local representatives. Calling for collective action to build a "Clean Andhra," he urged citizens to clean their homes and offices on the third Saturday of every month. “Let’s make Andhra Pradesh the cleanest and greenest state in the country,” he said.

The Chief Minister announced Rs.50 crores for developing roads and infrastructure in Panyam constituency. He also announced Rs.6 crore for modernizing the Kurnool Rythu Bazaar, with a vision to establish similar model markets in all 175 assembly constituencies. “Our aim is to ensure that farmers get a fair price for their produce while consumers receive fresh vegetables at affordable rates,” he stated.

In line with the upcoming International Yoga Day on June 21, Chandrababu revealed that Andhra Pradesh will host month-long yoga programs and organize the central celebration in Visakhapatnam. “This event will be one the world looks up to,” he promised, warning about the health impacts of excessive mobile phone use and advocating yoga for physical and mental well-being.

Highlighting his government’s focus on sanitation and sustainability, the CM said that waste segregation centers will be established across 75 locations to recycle wet and dry garbage. The responsibility of converting organic waste into compost will be entrusted to women-led DWCRA groups. “Through these efforts, we are showing the world the true strength of our women,” he said.

The Chief Minister proudly highlighted the transformation of Rayalaseema. “Once known for factional violence, this region now has four airports in its four districts—something unmatched elsewhere in the country. Soon, green energy from Orvakal will be powering homes across India,” he declared.

He also assured that beneficiaries of the Deepam gas scheme will soon see financial assistance directly in their accounts. “There is no such thing as waste in the world—everything has value,” the CM remarked, citing Japan’s cleanliness culture as a model.

As the program concluded, Chandrababu reminded officials and citizens alike: “Our future lies in responsibility—towards nature, cleanliness, and each other. Let’s build an Andhra Pradesh that the world admires.”

With the announcement of free public transport for women, aggressive clean energy plans, and widespread farmer support schemes, Chandrababu Naidu’s administration is setting the tone for a governance model centered on welfare, transparency, and sustainability.
