Senior Gastroenterologist at Yashoda Hospitals Secunderabad, Dr. Ravi Shankar said on Saturday that the rapid increase in Gastrointestinal disease (GI) cases across the country, especially among the youth, was a matter of concern. He was speaking at a two-day international conference & live workshop titled “YGCON-2025” on the recent advances in the field of “interventional endoscopic ultrasound and advanced endoscopy procedures” conducted by Yashoda Hospitals, Secunderabad under the leadership of the Department of Gastroenterology at Hotel Marigold.
This conference will focus on the latest advances in gastrointestinal medicine, from the oesophagus to upper gastro-intestinal, gastric problems to GI cancers, live demonstrations of third space endoscopy, in-depth discussions by international gastroenterology medical experts on recent advances in advanced endoscopy and interactive training sessions.
Hands-on training will also be available for young gastroenterologists and GI doctors from across the country, said Yashoda Group Director said Dr. Pavan Gorukanti while inaugurating the conference. Expressing concern about statistics which show 7 out of every 10 Indians suffering from some kind of gastric problem, Dr. Ravi Shankar said that this two-day conference-cum-workshop was organized to understand the various complexities of GI treatments and share experiences with leading medical experts from around the world in the field of gastro medicine.
