In a concerted effort to enhance Hyderabad’s urban mobility, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner R V Karnan conducted a detailed inspection on Tuesday of infrastructure developments around KBR Park, one of the key focus areas under the city's ambitious H-City initiative.
The H-City initiative aims to decongest major traffic corridors, improve commuter safety, and elevate urban infrastructure to meet the city's growing needs. As part of this project, seven major junctions surrounding KBR Park are slated for transformation, including the construction of 4.6 km of flyovers and 2.8 km of underpasses. These developments are expected to significantly ease traffic flow in one of Hyderabad’s most congested zones.
Commissioner Karnan reviewed the stretch from Jubilee Hills Road No. 2 to Jubilee Hills Check Post, assessing the readiness of the site. He instructed officials to expedite land acquisition processes and prioritize the timely initiation of works, while maintaining high standards of quality.
He also emphasized the importance of close coordination with the Traffic Police to implement effective traffic management measures and minimize disruption during the construction phase.
Commenting on the progress, Commissioner Karnan said the H-City projects reflect Hyderabad’s commitment to sustainable and future-ready urban development, ensuring safer and more efficient travel for its citizens.
The inspection was also attended by Khairatabad Zonal Commissioner Anuraag Jayanthi, Chief Engineer (Projects) Bhaskar Reddy, and Jubilee Hills Deputy Commissioner V. Sammaiah, who reviewed project specifics alongside the Commissioner.
