The GHMC Standing Committee has approved 18 agenda items and six table items, covering key civic, infrastructure, sports, sanitation, and administrative proposals aimed at strengthening service delivery across Greater Hyderabad. With maintenance costs rising across nearly 30 sports complexes, the committee cleared the plan to hand over ten sports complexes in the Khairatabad zone to private operators. Officials said selected agencies must offer corporate-level training at nominal fees and introduce coaching in sports where GHMC currently lacks machinery or qualified coaches. The proposal will now move to the General Body for final approval.

A significant approval was granted for setting up a basic food testing laboratory at the multipurpose function hall in Phase-IV of KPHB Colony, Moosapet Circle. GHMC sanctioned five crore rupees for civil works, equipment installation, and technical systems to strengthen food safety monitoring.

Key infrastructure works were also cleared. These include a storm-water drain at Ward 100 in Sanathnagar, widening of the Owaisi Junction Flyover stretch involving acquisition of seven properties, and revised H-CITI road development plans for Rasoolpura Junction and the AOC Centre stretch.

The committee also approved proposals for a flyover and grade separator at Fatehbowli and Nanalnagar, restoration of the Fatehnagar Flyover, expansion of the Falaknuma ROB, and outsourced sanitation in Secunderabad circles. Approval was also given for cleanliness maintenance between Secunderabad Railway Station and Clock Tower, leasing the Khajaguda Sports Complex, and a four-year technical support agreement with Osmania University.

The six table items include inviting tenders for 56 cellar shops at Abids Shopping Complex, extending the Bhagyanagar Gas Limited lease at the Quthbullapur Circle office by three years, selecting a service provider for a GPS-based tracking system for GHMC vehicles, establishing a 50-seat EMRI-run inbound call centre with upgraded servers, developing a sports arena at Galileo Nagar in Kapra Circle, and permitting GHMC to exchange its Hill Lock land with a private parcel in Jubilee Hills as per GHMC Act provisions.
