The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has launched a dedicated Model Code of Conduct (MCC) control room to monitor compliance during the Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election. The initiative was inaugurated on Thursday by the District Election Officer and GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan at the GHMC headquarters.
The control room will operate round-the-clock until the conclusion of the bypoll, ensuring rapid response to any violations of the election code of conduct. Officials were instructed to remain vigilant and act promptly on any reports of MCC breaches.
The inauguration was attended by GHMC Additional Election Commissioner Hemant Keshav Patil, Vigilance Additional SP, MCC Nodal Officer Narasimha Reddy, Media Nodal Officer Dasharatham, and CI Amrit Reddy, among others.
The District Election Officer emphasized the control room’s critical role in maintaining free and transparent elections.
