Government committed to welfare and development: Collector

District Collector Kumar Deepak stated that the government is working with the aim of people’s welfare and development. As part of the ‘Praja Palana Pragati Pranalika’ 99-day action plan, a Gram Sabha was organized on Thursday at Rapalli Gram Panchayat in Hajipur Mandal. The Collector attended the meeting along with Mandal Parishad Development Officer Sai Venkat Reddy, Mandal Education Officer Tirupati and Sarpanch Ram Reddy. Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said the government has planned special meetings on the 4th, 6th, 8th, and 10th of this month.

He advised farmers to select crops suitable for low rainfall conditions this year and asked agriculture and extension officials to create awareness among farmers in this regard. Regarding urea distribution, he said that registered farmers will receive urea in phases according to their crop and cultivation details entered in the app. He informed that cotton yield is expected to be around 14 to 15 quintals per acre depending on the soil type, and that the government will provide Minimum Support Price (MSP) to farmers.

He urged small and marginal farmers to focus on growing vegetable crops as an alternative and said the government will provide subsidies for such cultivation. He encouraged them to take advantage of this opportunity.The Collector stated that the government is taking steps to strengthen the education system. Through the Amma Adarsha Schools Committee, all necessary facilities will be provided in government schools to deliver quality education. He added that breakfast and midday meal schemes will be implemented for students in junior colleges.

He highlighted that nearly 98% of students passed in this academic year’s annual results. He said that proactive measures have been taken to ensure there is no drinking water shortage for the public during this summer. The government will continue to focus on health, education, women’s protection, and the implementation of welfare schemes. He informed that Mandal Parishad Development Officers and Mandal Tahsildars can be approached regarding any problems faced by the public in these areas, and a toll-free number will be made available. He assured that the administrative machinery will work in coordination to resolve people’s issues.
