Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha visited Dharmavaram village in S Rayavaram mandal, Anakapalli district, on Saturday as part of the state-wide outreach campaign Suparipalanalo Tholi Adugu.

She met accident victim Palla Appalaraju, assuring him of government support, and visited ailing senior TDP leader Kaligatla Suryanarayana. Anitha also offered prayers at the Sri Durgadevi Temple before engaging in door-to-door interactions with residents to explain the new coalition government’s goals.

In a village meeting, she clarified that her visit was not politically driven but aimed at understanding public grievances. She criticized the previous YSRCP government for neglecting rural areas, highlighting issues like lack of basic sanitation funds and deterioration of schools under the Nadu-Nedu scheme.

Addressing law enforcement, Anitha announced a special task force named Eagle to combat ganja cultivation and trafficking, warning of strict action against offenders.

Reaffirming the government's focus on women's welfare, she revealed that the free bus travel scheme for women will launch statewide on August 15. Additionally, she announced plans for industrial development in the Payakaraopeta constituency, including a steel plant and a toy manufacturing hub, promising employment opportunities for local youth.
