Infiltration has become a major point of political contention, with claims and accusations swirling around West Bengal’s security situation. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee recently made explosive claims, accusing the Border Security Force (BSF) of allowing Bangladeshi terrorists to infiltrate Bengal with the aim of destabilizing the state.

Banerjee argued that there is a "blueprint" by the central government behind the alleged actions of the BSF, which she believes is causing unrest in the region. She also pointed fingers at certain district magistrates and Superintendents of Police (SPs), accusing them of assisting the BSF in these illegal activities.

The accusations have ignited a political firestorm, which led to raising the crucial question, “Who’s responsible for the infiltration crisis?” This controversy has brought the issue of infiltration to the forefront, potentially becoming one of the central themes in the political landscape of 2025. As the debate continues to unfold, questions of national security, political accountability, and governance have taken center stage.

Some alleged in this debate that Bangladeshi Muslim infiltrators who for years have smuggled in have been promised rehabilitation in India by some political parties as long as they vote for them. They say that nine full districts in Assam have recently been totally taken over by Bangladeshi infiltrators and have become Muslim majority with some of them being  almost 80% Muslim.

Some even ridicule that how certain parties are asking for “proof” of infiltration while on the other hand, millions of Bangladeshis without any proofs or paying taxes are taking away jobs, taking away livelihoods compromising our safety and in the case of Assam even destroying the local culture.

Some say that radical Muslim groups who are soft on infiltration saying that they  even encourage infiltration because they think that the Muslim vote bank will relatively increase and become morepowerful. In this context, Some were also critical of the BJP.

They accused that the BJP's interest in fighting infiltration is seasonal and in the last 10 years they haven't even implemented the NRC and thrown 80% of infiltrators out. They say that very conveniently the BJP raise this issue about  Bangladeshis just before a Delhi election or Bengal election .

They argue that at state governments have to ensure that none of these Aadhar cards automatically become the root for getting voter rights or getting the rights to become Indian citizen. The Assam government  hadbrought in a regulation that Aadhar cards would have to be vetted at the district level they cannot be given on the border villages .

All the parties across political lines should come out and say that yes we are going to stop Aadhar being given temporarily  to the people who are just crossing the border. The country is not safe as a country with 20-30-40 million infiltrators in our country because infiltrators don't follow law. One should just need to see what's happening in the United States of America, the kind of crime that infiltrators do.

The number of murders, rapes, killings, shootouts, subway attacks that infiltrators do and why do they do it is because an infiltrator who comes in breaks the law the moment he enters and he does not feel circumscribed by the law.

Hence it is necessary to identify, eliminate and prevent infiltrators to come into our country. All the political parties should be on one page as far as this issue is concerned.
