The Telangana State Human Rights Commission (TSHRC) has ordered strict action against vehicles illegally displaying “Government,” “Press,” or “Advocate” titles. The Commission has instructed vehicle owners to respond to the notice by November 24.
Officials noted that misuse of these designations often creates confusion and is sometimes used to evade law enforcement. The TSHRC emphasised that only individuals or entities authorised under the law are permitted to display such titles. Unauthorized use can lead to legal consequences, including penalties or prosecution. The move comes after the Commission observed multiple cases of vehicles flaunting prohibited official and professional markings, including government emblems and press symbols, highlighting the need to protect public trust and prevent misuse. Authorities have been asked to ensure strict compliance.
