Hyderabad Police celebrate New Year with citizens

Hyderabad welcomed the New Year with grand celebrations at Telangana Secretariat, Charminar, KBR Park, and Mehdipatnam Raitu Bazar, with City Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar, IPS, leading the festivities. At midnight, Commissioner Sajjanar, along with senior police officials, cut cakes and extended warm New Year greetings to citizens, police personnel, and their families.

Addressing the occasion, Commissioner Sajjanar emphasized the importance of public safety, thanking residents for their support over the past year and urging them to continue participating in maintaining peace and security throughout 2026.

He also commended police personnel who, even during festivals and special occasions, remain away from their families to ensure law enforcement and public safety. He highlighted the department’s commitment to making Hyderabad a safer, crime-free city and noted that over 10,000 police personnel were deployed across the city to prevent any untoward incidents on New Year’s Eve.

The celebrations saw participation from Joint Commissioners D. Joyel Davis, Tafseer Iqbal, Deputy Commissioners Raksitha Krishna Murthy, K. Apurva Rao, K. Shilpavali, Kare Kiran Prabhakar, Lavanya Nayak Jadhav, C.H. Srinivas, G. Chandramohan, C.H. Rupesh, Vaibhav Raghunath Gaikwad, V. Aravind Babu, and other senior officials.

Officials and staff exchanged greetings enthusiastically, sharing in the festive spirit with citizens. The events at Telangana Secretariat, Charminar, KBR Park, and Mehdipatnam Raitu Bazar included cake cutting, photo opportunities, and friendly interactions, reflecting a balance of service and celebration. Commissioner Sajjanar concluded by wishing everyone a prosperous and safe New Year, reinforcing the strong bond between Hyderabad Police and the public they serve, and setting a positive tone for 2026.
