Hyderabad Police nab notorious bike thief, recover 4 stolen bikes

The Commissioner’s Task Force, West Zone, arrested a notorious bike thief, Merishetty Nageshwar Rao (23), along with an associate, on credible information during patrolling in SR Nagar on Friday. The duo was involved in multiple bike thefts across Cyberabad, recovering stolen property worth Rs 6.5 lakh.

ageshwar Rao, a resident of Vidya Nagar, Nallakunta, is a habitual offender with a history of property crimes. He reportedly partnered with his associate, addicted to online cricket betting, to fund a lavish lifestyle through theft.

Four bikes were seized from their possession: a Honda Dio (TS08HP4286), Yamaha R15M BSVI-PH2 (TS31K4448), Yamaha R15 (AP40AM0604), and an Avenis (AP39QF6843). Rao confessed to multiple theft cases registered at Miyapur, Chanda Nagar, and Gachibowli police stations.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of Inspector Ch. Yadender and SIP D. Ravi Raj, along with West Zone Task Force staff. The arrested individuals will face further legal action.
