Warangal police, in a joint operation with the Task Force, have arrested two suspects involved in multiple child kidnapping cases. The arrested individuals are Kodupaka Naresh, 42, from Ghavapur village, Peddapalli district, and Velpula Yadagiri, 32, from Shantinagar, Peddapalli town.

According to police, on December 28, 2025, a five-month-old baby named Mallanna, son of Kanna Nayak, was kidnapped while sleeping on the footpath outside Kajipet Railway Station. Following a complaint from the baby’s father, the police registered a case and began a detailed investigation.

During the inquiry, Kajipet police and Task Force teams gathered evidence linking the suspects to four previous child kidnappings. The suspects were intercepted while attempting to abduct more children from the same area. During questioning, they admitted to kidnapping the children and selling them to couples, sometimes from orphanages, for money.

The previous victims included a ten-month-old girl abducted in August 2025 from Warangal Railway Station, a three-year-old boy taken in October 2023 from Kajipet Railway Station, a five-month-old girl in Mancherial in October 2025, and a ten-month-old girl in Jagityal in June 2025. All five children, including Mallanna, have been rescued, and the couples who purchased the children without legal documentation were also taken into custody.

Warangal Police Commissioner Sunpreet Singh praised the efforts of the Kajipet and Task Force officers for their successful operation. The press briefing was attended by Central Zone DCP Kavita, Kajipet ACPs Madhusudan and Prashanth Reddy, Inspector Sudhakar Reddy, Task Force officials, and other authorities. Police personnel involved were commended and rewarded for their exceptional work in rescuing the children and apprehending the suspects.
