Hyderabad is rapidly becoming a global gaming and AVGC-XR (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics, and Extended Reality) hub due to strong IT support, government incentives, and major infrastructure projects like IMAGE Towers and a dedicated Centre of Excellence, attracting companies, investors, and creative talent from across the world.
The shift is strongly rooted in Telangana government initiatives led by the state’s IT & Industries department and its AVGC policy announcements. These frameworks are aimed at building a structured ecosystem for gaming, animation, VFX, and immersive technologies, while also generating large-scale employment opportunities and encouraging business expansion in the creative tech sector.
At the heart of this transformation is IMAGE Towers, a flagship project envisioned as a global-grade facility for gaming, animation, and digital media production. Alongside this, the proposed Centre of Excellence is expected to strengthen skill development, research, and industry readiness among students and professionals.

The government has also committed to fully digitalized approval systems through the ‘Film in Telangana’ portal, offering time-bound clearances and streamlined processes for production houses.
Social media platforms have reflected growing enthusiasm around these developments.
