IndiGo domestic market share slides to 63.6% in November

IndiGo, India’s largest airline, saw its domestic market share fall to 63.6 per cent in November following operational disruptions earlier this month, according to DGCA data. The figure is down from 65.6 per cent in October.

Air India Group, which includes Air India and Air India Express, increased its share to 26.7 per cent, while SpiceJet rose to 3.7 per cent. Akasa Air’s share declined to 4.7 per cent from 5.2 per cent in October.

Earlier this month, the DGCA directed IndiGo to cut its winter schedule by 10 per cent in response to the disruptions.

Passenger traffic for January–November 2025 reached 1,526.35 lakh, up 4.26 per cent from 1,464.02 lakh during the same period last year. In November, airlines received 1,196 passenger complaints, with 50.6 per cent related to flight issues, 17.9 per cent to baggage, and 12.5 per cent to refunds.

The overall cancellation rate of scheduled domestic flights stood at 1.33 per cent in November.
