Indiramma houses in three more phases: Ponguleti

Minister for Revenue and Housing Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy announced that the sanction of Indiramma houses to every eligible poor person in the state will be a continuous process. The Minister said the construction of the houses sanctioned in the first phase would be completed before the upcoming monsoon season. He also revealed that the sanctioning of Indiramma houses in the state would take place in three more phases.The Minister said that unlike the previous government, which only gave promises about houses during elections, the current government is implementing the Housing scheme with sincerity.

He stated that under the Indiramma Housing scheme, which stands as a symbol of self-respect for the poor, houses will be sanctioned every year during the months of March and April.

Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Saturday gave detailed answers to the questions asked by several MLAs in the Legislative Assembly.

He stated that out of the 4.50 lakh houses sanctioned in the first phase, about 3 lakh houses are in various stages of construction, and about 52,000 houses are ready for occupancy. The Minister further stated that the State government has released ₹204 crore for houses that were built during the previous government's tenure but left incomplete and without financial assistance.He added that 36,000 houses in 133 colonies across the state were left with only bare walls and lacked basic amenities. In this context, he stated that based on the suggestions of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti, the department has provided civic amenities worth ₹744 crore.

Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy also revealed that some 2 BHK houses have been constructed but not yet allocated to anyone, and however, the current government has sanctioned Rs.455 crore for the incomplete houses, which will also be handed over to eligible beneficiaries.The Minister assured that the steps will be taken on a war footing across the state in urban areas regarding the construction of 2BHK houses, provision of infrastructure facilities, and implementation of suggestions from public representatives, among other things.
