Kaleswaram Irrigation Department Executive Engineer Nune Sridhar has been remanded to judicial custody in a Disproportionate Assets (DA) case on Thursday by an ACB court.

The ACB officials, who conducted searches at 13 places belonging to Sridhar and his relatives, arrested him on Wednesday. He was sent to Chanchalguda jail.

Meanwhile, the ACB officials will seek his custody to open his bank lockers. The ACB has already identified that the accused amassed hundreds of crores of illegal assets. It is reported that the value of his illegal assets in the open market is over Rs 100 crore.

The ACB officials conducted searches at four places in Bengaluru and six places in Hyderabad. The raids were also conducted at the Kaleshwaram Project office in Karimnagar. A huge amount of assets were identified in connection with Sridhar's illegal income.

The ACB officials stepped in after allegations were made that Sridhar was in-charge of the crucial Gayatri Pump House in the Kaleshwaram Project and that he took commissions in the purchases of Bahubali Motors installed there. It is understood that Sridhar was also in charge of the huge pump house built in Ramadugu mandal of Choppadandi constituency.
