The long-standing demand of residents of Anaparti in East Godavari district has finally been fulfilled, with the Janmabhoomi Superfast Express (Visakhapatnam–Lingampalli) being granted a scheduled halt at Anaparti Railway Station. The new stoppage was formally inaugurated on Tuesday by Rajamahendravaram MP Daggubati Purandeswari and Anaparti MLA Nallamilli Ramakrishna Reddy, who flagged off the train amid celebrations.

Ahead of the inauguration, coalition party leaders and local residents reached the railway station in a large rally, turning the event into a festive occasion. Leaders remarked that Anaparti experienced the joy of Sankranti celebrations nearly ten days in advance, reflecting the public’s happiness over the fulfilment of a demand that had been pending for several years.

Speaking on the occasion, MP Purandeswari said the first request raised by the people during the election campaign was for a halt for the Janmabhoomi Express at Anaparti. “We have honoured that promise within one and a half years of coming to office,” she said. She attributed the success to the support and cooperation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, and expressed gratitude to them for facilitating the approval.

The introduction of the halt is expected to significantly benefit daily commuters, students, employees and long-distance travellers from Anaparti and surrounding areas by improving connectivity to major cities such as Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad. Local residents and passengers expressed satisfaction that their long-pending demand had finally been addressed, describing the decision as a major boost to regional convenience and development.
