BRS President K. Chandrashekar Rao launched a strong attack on the ruling Congress government, alleging governance failures, farmer distress, and declining administrative standards in Telangana.

Speaking at a key meeting held at Telangana Bhavan to mark the conclusion of Silver Jubilee celebrations of Bharat Rashtra Samithi’s formation, he said the government has failed to procure paddy effectively and that farmers are facing severe difficulties. He added that people across the state are expressing anguish and uncertainty over the current situation.

The meeting, chaired by KCR, was attended by senior leaders including K. T. Rama Rao, along with Members of Parliament, MLAs, MLCs, district presidents, heads of affiliated wings, and former public representatives. The session continued for over an hour, during which KCR made several key observations and strategic announcements.

Sharp Criticism of Govt and Political Rivals

KCR stated that the condition of farmers in the state has deteriorated and accused the government of failing in its responsibility to procure grain. He remarked that he is unable to understand what is happening in the state and that the situation has led to widespread public dissatisfaction.

Recalling past political decisions, he said that in 2009, the party aligned with the Telugu Desam Party only to strengthen the Telangana movement and raise the slogan of “Jai Telangana.” He also noted that the Rythu Bandhu scheme was introduced based on advice from agricultural expert Ashok Gulati.

KCR criticized restrictions on public access to the Ambedkar statue, stating that even visitors from neighboring states were not being allowed freely. He used strong words to describe the present administration, calling it ineffective and disconnected.

He also strongly condemned remarks made by BJP MP Tejasvi Surya on Telangana’s statehood, calling them irresponsible and disrespectful. He questioned why leaders from Congress and BJP did not respond to such comments. Referring to parliamentary debates, he said that if BRS MPs had been present in full strength, they would have strongly countered such statements.

KCR further recalled the challenges he faced during the Telangana movement, stating that he endured significant mental pressure. He revealed that Sonia Gandhi had advised him multiple times to compromise on Hyderabad, suggesting it would speed up the state formation process, but he refused to do so.

Organizational Revamp and Future Strategy

In a major organizational decision, KCR announced the dissolution of all party committees except the state committee, signaling a complete restructuring of the party. He said new committees will be formed to strengthen the organization at every level.

He announced that a fresh membership drive will be launched in both online and offline modes, noting that the party previously had around 60 lakh members. He admitted that the party had not effectively communicated its achievements while in power and stressed the need to reconnect with people.

KCR emphasized the importance of building a strong and disciplined cadre that acts as a protective shield for Telangana at all times. He called for the formation of student committees from schools to universities and proposed training programs for party workers at the constituency level, with around 200 members in each unit.

He stated that only those who actively work for the party will be considered for tickets in future elections, making it clear that decisions will not be based on personal preferences. He also expressed concern that some leaders were acting with arrogance and failing to work in coordination, urging them to function collectively.

The meeting also passed resolutions thanking various sections of society, including workers of Singareni and people from all communities, for their support. Leaders reaffirmed their focus on key public issues such as farmer welfare, land acquisition, and youth employment.

The Silver Jubilee meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to strengthen the party structure, expand its cadre base, and prepare for upcoming political challenges while continuing to advocate for the interests of Telangana.
