K. T. Rama Rao, Working President of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi, addressed a press conference detailing the key directions issued by party chief K. Chandrashekar Rao during the meeting at Telangana Bhavan on Monday, along with major organizational and political decisions.
KTR conveyed KCR’s appreciation to leaders, cadres, and supporters who contributed to the Telangana movement. He recalled the difficult conditions prior to state formation and highlighted the determined struggle led by KCR over 25 years, including strategic political actions that ultimately led to the creation of Telangana.
KTR stated that KCR elaborated on the governance model implemented after statehood, emphasizing welfare and development initiatives such as financial support programs for farmers. He contrasted this with the current situation, expressing concern over delays in assistance and the growing distress among farmers. Issues such as power shortages, lack of seeds and fertilizers, farmer suicides, and inadequate procurement were highlighted as serious concerns.
Responding to recent political developments, KTR dismissed the emergence of new parties (indirectly referring to his sister Kavitha's party), stating that many parties come and go, while only a few sustain themselves over decades. He noted that a party completing 25 years reflects strong public support and resilience, and said there is no need to give undue importance to newly formed outfits.
He also remarked that several individuals frequently comment on KCR, but such remarks do not warrant attention.
Referring to statements made in Parliament by BJP MP Tejasvi Surya, KTR said the party strongly condemned the remarks as offensive to the dignity of Telangana. He expressed disappointment over the lack of response from the state's MPs from Congress and BJP.
On organizational matters, KTR announced that KCR has directed a comprehensive restructuring of the party. All committees, except the state executive, have been dissolved, with new appointments to follow. Training programs for cadres from village to state level will be conducted, alongside a membership drive in both online and offline formats. Strengthening affiliated wings has also been prioritized.
The meeting adopted key resolutions, including a demand for unrestricted procurement of paddy and a warning of statewide protests if the issue remains unresolved. The party also resolved to intensify efforts toward securing women’s reservation and called for active participation of cadres in all programs.
KTR also responded to remarks made by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, urging him to maintain the dignity of his office and focus on policy matters rather than personal criticism.
