In a major crackdown on food adulteration and unsafe food practices, the H-FAST (Hyderabad Food Adulteration Surveillance Team) officials and Food Safety Officers raided an unlicensed fast-food godown operating under the limits of Hussainialam Police Station, Charminar and seized around 110 kg of prepared fried chicken, reused cooking oil and banned food colours.
The raid at M/s Al Akbar Fast Food and Godown in New Laad Bazar revealed shocking violations, including operation without an FSSAI licence, reuse of stale and hazardous cooking oil, use of artificial colours, unsafe cooking practices, and unhygienic storage conditions.
According to Vaibhav Raghunath Gaikwad, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Task Force, Hyderabad, two persons were apprehended and booked under relevant provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act. Authorities warned that consumption of such food could lead to food poisoning, infections, allergic reactions, and long-term health complications. Police urged the citizens to purchase food only from licensed establishments and report unsafe food practices.
