BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy over Telangana’s budget cuts, governance failures, and the state hosting the Miss World competition.
In an informal interaction with media in the Assembly on Monday, KTR criticized the Revanth Reddy-led government for slashing Telangana’s budget reportedly by Rs 71,000 crore, calling it a “massive embarrassment” and proof of the state's economic downfall. “Chief Minister himself admitted that revenue has fallen by Rs 70,000 crore. How can Telangana be ‘Rising’ if the Income is falling?” questioned KTR.
He accused Revanth Reddy of destroying a once-thriving state and blamed his policies for economic mismanagement. “There is no financial crisis, no COVID-19 setback—yet, the economy is in shambles under this government,” KTR said.
Calling Revanth Reddy a “failed CM,” KTR ridiculed his frequent Delhi trips, questioning what he had secured for Telangana. He accused him of sidelining governance for political gimmicks and criticized his attacks on journalists and political opponents. “The people of Telangana deserve answers,” KTR said, warning that BRS will hold the government accountable for its failures. Miss World Controversy: misplaced priorities
KTR also took a dig at the government for hosting the Miss World event at an estimated cost of Rs 250 crore. “At a time when farmers are struggling and power cuts are rampant, the government is focused on beauty pageants. Is this the priority for Telangana?” he asked.
