Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka stated that the highest number of candidates from Telangana should be selected in the civil services. Bhatti Vikramarka attended as the chief guest at the programme held at Praja Bhavan on Monday, organised by Singareni, to provide financial assistance of ₹1 lakh each to 178 candidates who have qualified for the Mains examination.
He said human resources are the most important and strongest investments, and if they are polished into diamonds, they can be of immense benefit to society. The government thought it fit to extend some support to candidates preparing for the Civil Services, believing it would help them achieve their goals, he said.
"The State government is ready to extend all kinds of cooperation to those aspiring for Civil Services. This programme is being conducted for the second consecutive year to encourage and instil confidence in the candidates," Bhatti said.
He informed that last year, 148 candidates were given financial assistance, out of which 10 were selected for the civil services. The Deputy Chief Minister stressed that the role of bureaucracy is crucial in upholding democracy and that civil services provide the opportunity to change the living conditions of the people.
Bhatti Vikramarka noted that among the thousands of officers who have served in the State, only a few names like S.R. Shankaran, Parthasarathy, and Madhav Rao have remained etched in people’s hearts. He said that if one serves with dedication, they can be remembered permanently in the hearts of the people.
