Construction of the massive manufacturing facility being set up by global electronics major LG Electronics at Sri City in Andhra Pradesh is progressing at a brisk pace, State IT and Industries Minister Nara Lokesh said on Saturday.

Expressing satisfaction over the speed of execution, the minister said the ₹5,000 crore investment stands as a strong testament to the State government’s commitment to attracting investments and generating large-scale employment for youth. “This project clearly demonstrates that Andhra Pradesh is at the forefront of investor facilitation and job creation,” he remarked.

The world-class manufacturing unit is being developed over an expansive 247 acres. Land for the project was handed over in May 2025, and within a short span, the company has achieved significant progress in construction, Lokesh noted.

This will be LG’s third manufacturing facility in India. The Sri City unit will produce refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines, and several critical electronic components, strengthening domestic manufacturing capacity and supply chains.

The minister said the project would substantially reinforce the State’s manufacturing ecosystem and is expected to create thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities. As per the project roadmap, commercial production is slated to begin by the end of 2026, with phased expansion planned through 2029.

He reiterated the government’s resolve to provide a supportive industrial environment, ensuring time-bound clearances, robust infrastructure, and policy stability to sustain long-term industrial growth in the State.
