Life term in wife murder case

A city court on Thursday sentenced a man to life imprisonment for murdering his wife in a brutal domestic violence case that took place in Jiyaguda in 2022. The conviction came in a case investigated by Kulsumpura Police under the Hyderabad City Police.

According to police, the accused, Menda Santosh (32), a tiffin centre worker from Sanjay Nagar, Jiyaguda, murdered his wife, Saritha, on July 15, 2022, following a heated argument. During the altercation, he allegedly assaulted her, attacked her with a pair of scissors and strangled her with a dupatta, resulting in her death. A case was registered based on a complaint lodged by the victim's elder sister.

Following a detailed investigation, police filed a charge sheet before the court. The II Additional Sessions Judge Court at Nampally found the accused guilty under Section 302 of the IPC and sentenced him to rigorous life imprisonment along with a fine of Rs. 2,000. Kulsumpura Police appreciated the investigation and prosecution teams for securing the conviction, reaffirming their commitment to ensuring justice in serious criminal cases.
